Wow, I just finished reading 'The Host". Once again, I was so captivated by the story I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. I am amazed how the author is able to invoke the feelings of the characters onto the reader. I can picture the characters in my head and actually felt some of what they must have been feeling in the story. I even cried, though those that know me may not be too surprised by this. Stephenie Meyer has hit it big. I loved the Twilight Series and can't wait for the next installment, but really enjoyed this new book.

Thanks for the recommendation. I saw it in the book store but I don't buy books so I'll have to check it out from the library but didn't want to do so if it was going to be a let down. Do you know if it is part of a series? If it is, I'm going to wait until the others come out...I absolutely hate reading them then having to wait to find out the ending (I wouldn't have read Twilight yet if I'd have known the 4th was yet to come) and there are too many good books to read to waste my time re-reading something unless it's absolutely incredible.
I completely agree with you. I hated the waiting with Harry Potter too.
As far as I know this is a single book. I haven't seen any mention of sequels even on her website. The story seemed pretty well concluded although I suppose it could always be taken further. I don't believe that is her plan though.
